Simplicity. Swing. Class.
Few things in jazz convey these ideas more than the piano trio. Fewer still, are the number of modern piano trios who truly exemplify these ideals.
The Philip Marshall Trio is one of them.
Led by drummer Philip Marshall, the trio features pianist Gianni Bianchini, and bassist Michael Stevens. Together, they are a collective tour de force, whose mission is to swing you out of your seat. They are indeed the personification, and promise, of all the good things to be found within the jazz idiom. Even for those who typically “don’t like jazz.”
One listen to the group (especially live), and I’m sure you’ll agree.
